Art exhibition “The last resort”

Have you ever looked at one of the galleries on the SNU campus?

At the start of this semester, we are pleased to invite you to the opening and artist conference of The last resort, an exhibition by Kristin Hough this Wednesday, September 22 at 5 p.m. The exhibit is housed in the Tahoe Gallery, located on the 3rd floor of the Prim Library. Light snacks will be served at 5:00 p.m. and Kristin’s artist talk will begin at 5:30 p.m. in room PL 320.

According to Hough, the paintings of The last resort reference tourist destinations and extract review images from strangers on websites like TripAdvisor and Yelp. They oscillate between fear and cynicism, with frantic branding and multiple narratives guiding the composition. The figures smear mud on their faces and drink beer while wading through misty waters, while the paintings revel in confusion, vivid colors, and alien landscapes.

More of his work can be seen at www.kristinhough.com.

Can’t join in person? Join us virtually by watching the SNU / FA YouTube channel. The artist’s entire lecture will be broadcast live on https://youtu.be/gPS0b0Ecb8w!

THIS STATE OF LOST, a fantastic exhibition by Hasler Gomez, is currently on display in the Garage Door Gallery on the first floor of the Holman Arts & Media Center. Gomez will be on campus to give an artist talk at the opening reception on October 13 at 5 p.m.
