More than 100 people attended the opening of the Art Inclusion exhibition at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery.
Volunteers lead the Art for Inclusion group which seeks to empower people to nurture and express their creative talent through their art.
The group that has been around for three years has continued to grow and hope to have more exhibitions in the future.
Artist Gelorup Creed James has his work featured in the current exhibition.
Mr. James has been taking the Art Inclusion course for several years with organizer and artist Ross Vaughan.
Mr. Vaughan said Mr. James’ works were amazing.
“It’s a form of expressionism with a Picasso-style cubism,” he said.
Enable WA, which, along with the Town of Bunbury and Combined Team Services, is one of the main sponsors of the exhibition, has supported artists with disabilities in the community for many years.
Enable WA chief executive Robert Holmes said he believes it is important for local businesses and community groups to support programs like Art for Inclusion, supported by Enable.
“We are part of the community, and I think if we can strengthen any part of the community, that’s our mission.
“We are very proud of what we have achieved working together, the opportunities that have been created for the participants are a great result and are at the heart of what we strive to do in the community,” said Mr. Holmes .
