Countryside Gallery exhibits artwork by Ilya Lerner
Countryside Gallery, 2 S. State St., Newtown, is hosting a spring 2022 solo exhibition by Ilya Lerner through May 1. Resident Artist Ilya Lerner currently resides in Bucks County. Born in Moscow, Lerner has been involved in the fine arts since early childhood, receiving extensive training in the famous classical tradition of Russian art. Since the age of 20, Lerner has been a professional artist. Currently, Lerner works primarily en plein air (en plein air) but also paints figurative works, portraits, still lifes and is a master draftsman and sculptor. His style is rooted in the impressionist/realist tradition fused with modernist and contemporary influences. Lerner’s work has been featured in over 30 group exhibitions and has been the subject of 10 solo exhibitions, including a major retrospective at the Roberson Museum in Binghamton, NY. residencies at Mill Atelier Gallery, Buffalo River State Park, and Vermont Studio Center. Lerner was educated in Russia and at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He runs painting workshops for Yardley artists and owns the Lerner Studio Art School, a private art school.
