“It’s a broad theme and we only have to open our eyes to find inspiration,” Cathriona Kelly, Visual Communications for Galleries In The Gardens told News Of The Area.

The exhibition will run from January 5, 2022 to January 31, 2022 from Wednesday to Sunday with free entry and wheelchair access available.

GIG is also extremely happy to announce that local group Myall Koala and Environment (MKEG) sponsored this year’s Cool Summer Show.

As a result of this generous sponsorship, there will be a 1st prize for 2D work and another for ceramic / sculpture exhibitions with the judge being a freelance artist from outside the region.

“MKEG promotes the preservation of the locally threatened koala population, actively participates in environmental protection of Hawks Nest and Tea Gardens, as well as monitoring appropriate and inappropriate development proposals on the Myall Coast and GIG is happy to be associated with it, ”Ms. Kelly said.

The group will raffle a large painting donated and produced by the artist from Galleries In The Gardens and all profits will be donated to MKEG.

At the same time, a large basket of gourmet products will be raffled to raise funds for Wildlife In Need of Care.

GIG will also raffle off a large basket of gourmet treats, donated by GIG members.

Funds raised will go to Wildlife In Need of Care.

“Everyone is encouraged to join us on our opening night on Friday January 7th at 5pm for a very sociable and friendly community night at the gallery,” Ms. Kelly said.
