Museum of Art’s Lunchtime Looks to Present Director of Core Arboretum | E-News
The WVU Art Museum’s âLunchtime Looksâ lecture series continues Friday (December 3) at noon with Zach Fowler, who will focus on Trees on the Mountain: Landscapes of Appalachia and Beyond, currently on display in the McGee Gallery.
Fowler is Director of WVU Core Arboretum and Associate Service Professor in the Department of Biology, where he teaches plant ecology and flora of West Virginia. His primary responsibilities include maintaining and promoting the Arboretum, planning programming, coordinating volunteers, and interacting with visitors and supporters of the Arboretum.
His interdisciplinary presentation will contextualize the exhibition within the framework of his own in-depth knowledge of the flora of the Appalachians. It will include a discussion of artistic interpretations of the exhibition through the prism of his own scientific expertise as well as his vast experience in communicating ideas about the natural world to various audiences.
This is a face-to-face event and we invite you to join us in the Plevin Hall of the Art Museum at noon before heading to the galleries for the presentation. If you would like to participate virtually, the link to a live stream will be displayed on the Art Museum website the week of the event.
