‘FOR the Love of Art’ is the Coffs Harbor Creative Arts Group’s (CHCAG) final exhibition for 2022 at the Coffs Harbor Showground Gallery, running until early February 2023.

This longer lead time gives CHCAG members time to focus on family and friends over the holiday season and to consider their creation(s) for the first exhibition of 2023,” Fabulous Fakes,” which runs from February 3 to March 22. .

It also provides many opportunities for members, locals and visitors to view the artwork.

“Although most exhibitions throughout the year are themed, ‘For the Love of Art’ is open,” said Sue Roberts, President of CHCAG.

“Members have complete freedom to create in whatever media and topics they choose.

“Exhibition visitors can expect to see watercolors, acrylics, calligraphy, painted porcelain, mixed media, printmaking, pastels, fiber art, and more on and off the walls of the Gallery’s exhibition space.”

The exhibition officially opens at 2pm on Sunday 6th November at the Showground Gallery, Coffs Harbour.

“It will be an informal meeting, with members offering light refreshments.

“Entrance is by donation.

“The winner of the audience award from the previous exhibition, ‘All Creatures Great & Small’, will also be announced,” Sue said.

4th semester classes are in progress for part of the exhibition; they started on October 17 and most will end on November 24.

“The Friday social painting group continues throughout the year, with little interruption other than a Christmas/New Year break.”

CHCAG will host its Open Day/Meet the Tutors event in January, the date of which has yet to be announced.

This is the day people can sign up for the first semester classes as well as the opportunity to engage with the tutors, meet some of the group members, learn what will be covered in the classes and workshops, and talk about anything related to art.

“For the love of art” is on view until Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

The Gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., except public holidays, free admission.

All works are for sale.

“Your solved Christmas gift: a unique, local and original work of art”, persuaded Sue.
