PHOTOS: ‘Iconic Lagos’ Art Exhibit Opens at Didi Museum

Lagos’ iconic exhibition, a showcase of art, has opened at the Didi Museum on Victoria Island.

The art exhibition was held on Saturday September 17, bringing together several art lovers in an intimate setting.

Hundreds of people flocked to the gallery to get their first glimpse of the Nigerian trading city-themed exhibition.

The exhibition presented the works of 23 artists who were present to evaluate their own works.

During the event, Bolaji Alonge, a photographer, thanked all the artists, guests, partners and sponsors of the show.

All of the works in the exhibition, Alonge said, are for sale and indeed many were scavenged on opening day.

Organizers said they plan to sell out the show by the end of the ride on September 25.

Iconic Lagos consists of three elements: photographs by Bolaji Alonge, mixed media images by Jason Ogbazi/Alonge, and works by other artists.

The show followed after a call for entries went out in July, with around 400 entries received.

20 works have been selected for the exhibition.
