The Western Illinois University Art Gallery presents the exhibition “Remnants” until February 18

West Hartford, CT artist Kasey Ramirez will be showing his solo exhibition, “Remnants,” through February 18, at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery.

Born in New Brunswick, NJ, Ramirez earned a master’s degree in printmaking from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in illustration from Rhode Island School of Design. She is now an assistant professor and head of printmaking at the Hartford Art School.

Her work has been exhibited at the International Print Center New York, the Morgan Conservatory in Cleveland, OH, the 21C Museum Hotel in Bentonville, AR, the Rosewood Arts Center Gallery in Kettering, OH, and the Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, NJ . She is a recipient of an Artists 360 Fellowship from the Mid America Art Alliance, for which she pursues research on climate change and related risk mitigation efforts to inform her ongoing series.

Ramirez has been artist-in-residence at Collar Works Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency in Granville, NY, Vermont Studio Center, and Guanlan Printmaking Base in Shenzhen, China.

The WIU exhibition is open to the public free of charge. Visitors must be vaccinated and masks are mandatory.
